Book Sales

Each year, the Friends hold a large weekend Book Sale in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each weekend begins with a Member Preview sale on Friday and ends with a Bag Day sale on Sunday. The sales typically feature a large selection of fiction and mystery books, many categories of nonfiction, and antiquarian and special price books. The 2024 sale dates are as follows:

• Spring Book Sale: Friday, April 26 - Sunday, April 28
• Summer Book Sale: Friday, August 2 - Sunday, August 4
• Fall Book Sale: Friday, December 6 - Sunday, December 8

You will be glad you came! 

 Sales are typically at the following times: 

• Friday night Member Preview—6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday—10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunday Bag Sale—1 p.m. to 4 p.m., $5.00 for all the books you can put in a grocery-size bag that we provide.

A signup sheet will be available in the Friends office approximately one month before to the Book Sale date.

Planning to attend? Please remember to bring your current Friends of the Castro Valley Library membership card in order to take advantage of your $2.00 discount. Not a member? You can purchase a membership ahead of time, or at the door.

We may also have special sales at other times during the year. Remember to check frequently for notices in the newsletter, on our website, and posted at the bookstore.
