Camino Island by John Grisham (2017 fiction)
This is a tightly choreographed thriller. John Grisham leads his readers step by step through an interesting tale of original F. Scott Fitzgerald manuscripts. The story is straightforward, involving a cast of credible characters, plenty of good meals and liquor, engaging conversation, mildly titillating sex, and minimal physical violence. I was disappointed in the inevitable unfolding of the plot. Having recently rated Jo Nesbo’s The Snowman as infuriating and challenging, I found Camino Island pleasantly soporific.
