Legendary Locals of Castro Valley, Hayward, and San Lorenzo – Doris Marciel and the Hayward Area Historical Society (2013 nonfiction)

Last year, the library presented a program relative to this book and some of the very interesting information contained within. You have no doubt heard of at least some of the “locals” featured, but if not, you will certainly recognize many of their namesakes: streets, schools, parks, geographical features, and other points of interest. In this book, you will also discover the valuable contributions these individuals have made to our community. Ms. Marciel and the Historical Society have done an outstanding job recounting brief biographies and/or other information regarding well over 100 individuals and organizations. Recommended for local history buffs and those who love our community.
