Shetland Island series by Ann Cleeves (Fiction/Mystery)

Raven Black is the first in the series published in 2006, however, there are 9 books total in the series, ending in 2018. Ann Cleeves is best known for her Vera Stanhope series, but Shetland takes us to a subarctic archipelago in the Norwegian Sea between the Faroe Islands and Norway. It is a part of Scotland and the northernmost land in the U. K. (I had to look it up!). The location intrigued me and we find Detective Jimmy Perez as the quiet but competent investigator to cover murder on this small group of islands.
