(From the August 2015 Circle of Friends Newsletter)

If you were not able to come to the pop-up multimedia sale on June 21, never fear, the August book sale will have lots of great media for sale at very reasonable prices along with lots of books! Mark the dates on your calendar: August 21 – 23. If you have never volunteered for the Friends, this is a great place to start. Sign up to help at the bookstore office. While you are there, pick up a volunteer form to explore other volunteer opportunities.

The Friends support many of the ongoing programs at the library. Everything from A to Z:

  • Animal visits (Paws to Read, Sulphur Creek...)
  • Computer classes
  • Game Day
  • Monthly Movie
  • Summer Reading Game
  • Tuff Tumblers
  • Xylophone (sounds like Z) experience (Musical Story time).

This is just a sampling of how we support the Castro Valley Library.

The dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of the community make all of this possible.

If you are interested in being more involved in the activities of the Friends, please join us at a board meeting – the fourth Tuesday of each month in the café area of the library, 9:30 am. Next meeting: August 25, 2015.
